Once owned by Lady Margaret Beaufort, the mother of King Henry VII, the house is a rare example of a timber framed property dating from the early part of the 15th century. The house has spent most of its history owned by Christ's College in Cambridge after having been bequeathed by Lady Margaret on her death in 1509. On several documented occasions in the 16th century the house provided a refuge against the plague for the college masters and students. We have lived in Malton Farm for just a few years, but our extensive renovations have revealed much of its structure and history. Our web site gives some insight to the discoveries we made.
